About Sanqua Engineering

Twenty years of building, making and powering progress in Uganda.

From water and sanitation to three divisions

Sanqua Engineering Ltd was founded as a sanitation and water engineering firm and incorporated in Uganda in 2004. Our founders, a civil engineer and a mechanical engineer, shared one belief: every community deserves safe water, decent sanitation and buildings that last.

We started with water and sanitation projects for peri-urban and rural communities. As our clients’ needs grew, so did we. Today we work across construction, manufacturing and renewable energy.

Our headquarters and production yard are on Plots 53, 55 and 57–59, Temele Industrial Road, in the Soroti Industrial and Business Park. From here we serve clients across East and North East Uganda and beyond, with a team of managers, technicians and support staff backed by skilled local workers recruited for each project.

We are proud to have delivered projects for PEAS Uganda, Save the Children, the Embassy of Japan in Uganda, the Uganda Red Cross Society and GOAL. That record rests on doing quality work, at a fair price, and keeping our word.

Our commitment to communities and the environment

Sanqua was born out of water and sanitation work, and that purpose still guides us. We focus on peri-urban settlements and rural communities, where good infrastructure makes the biggest difference.

Our biogas systems turn waste into clean energy and fertiliser. Our briquettes offer an alternative to charcoal and help protect Uganda’s forests. Our low-cost sanitation keeps waste out of water sources. Wherever we work, we hire and train local people, so skills stay in the community after we leave.
